Two different beasts, honestly. Porcelain is dense, frost-resistant, and needs almost no maintenance once it's down, but the bed preparation has to be spot on or you'll get movement. Sandstone breathes differently, it's a natural material with variation in colour and texture, and we use permeable jointing compound resin-bound pointing on both systems to keep weeds out and water moving properly. Most people don't realise the pointing is where jobs fail, not the slab itself.
We cover CV47 and the surrounding postcodes. A fair chunk of our recent work has been in Stoneythorpe and the newer builds pushing out along that edge of town, where gardens come handed over as bare soil and need everything from the ground up. And that suits us, because starting from scratch means we can get the falls right from day one.
But it's not always new builds. We get plenty of calls from older properties where the original patio has had it and needs pulling up and relaying properly.
